The CSIRO Board is responsible to the Australian Government for the overall strategy, governance and performance of CSIRO.

Dr John Stocker, apppointed Chair of the CSIRO Board 2 July 2007.

Dr Stocker has a distinguished career in pharmaceutical research and extensive experience in the management of research and development and in its commercialisation. 

Prof Suzanne Cory

Professor Suzanne Cory is a highly regarded scientist, and has been widely recognised for her contributions to medical research. She was appointed to the CSIRO Board in June 2002.

Dr Geoff Garrett is the Chief Executive of CSIRO.

Dr Geoff Garrett is Chief Executive of CSIRO. Since 2001, he and his team have focused on Australia’s major scientific challenges and opportunities. They have strengthened partnerships across the innovation system and grown CSIRO’s impact through a more unified approach.

Professor Ian Chubb AC: CSIRO Board Member.

Professor Chubb was appointed to the CSIRO Board in August 2008.

Dr Eileen Doyle: CSIRO Board Member.

Dr Doyle was appointed to the CSIRO Board in February 2006.

The Honourable John Kerin

Mr John Kerin has significant government experience and has held various high-level positions in a range of organisations and sectors.

Deborah O’Toole

Ms Deborah O'Toole was appointed to the CSIRO Board in April 2003, after being admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1981, and a successful corporate career .
